Finding the Balance: Creative Purity vs. Market Alignment

I wonder whether you've been wrestling with being a creative purist versus playing towards the market that you think might be interested in what you do. I think it's a real struggle as creatives to be pure to what we want to create and what we envision, the sounds we hear, the sites we see and wanting to really tap into that and be pure versus the constant pressure to think about who might be interested in what we are creating

And are we actually tweaking it to what they want? And, look in terms of marketing and selling and making a living those are real questions and real things to think about. And I don't think there's one right and wrong answer. I think the best art will come out when we're really tapping into our creative purity and what we really are envisioning.

But at the same time, we've got to listen to, who's watching, who's buying, who's interested and think about them because the end of the day we want to be able to make a living doing our art. And so it's gotta be marketable and sellable

but at the same time, we want to remain pure. So it's real tug of war, I think constantly going on. And we've got to keep, coming back to ourselves and going, what's the real drive here? are we feeling like we're having opportunity to express ourselves creatively or do we feel like we're just being dominated by a market or a label or something that we have to create what they.

Um, because at the end of the day, I don't think we'll create our best stuff if that's what's driving us. So if this is something that you've wrestled with or that resonates with you I'd love to hear from you and uh, yeah, let's keep the conversation going. Ben
